Microsoft Office Accounting 2008

Microsoft Office Accounting (MOA) is a great accounting product for small businesses. The 2008 version now includes:

  • Microsoft Office look and feel
  • Integration to Microsoft Office applications
  • Modules for Job Costing, Time Sheets and Multi-currency
  • SQL 2005 and 2008 compatability

 

Unfortunately, the product has only been developed by Microsoft for the US and the UK. The US version has all the feature requirements for an Australian small business except GST. The UK version has VAT and so works well for the GST. The only issue is that it comes out of the box ready to work with VAT and UK pounds.

 

Red River Solutions has developed a template company (Oz Pack) that can be used with the UK version of the product. Furthermore, Red River's Oz Pack includes a set of GST reports and a GST configuration tool that allows the product to be easily used for an Australian company. One major benefit of using MOA is the ability to easily upgrade to Dynamics, Microsoft's premium business accounting package.

 

Red River has over 60 sites of Microsoft Office Accounting running in Australia. The largest user is a NSW Government Agency with over 120 users at multiple sites across the state. Other clients have come from the following industries:
